REVIVAL 92 NEWS AND NOTES

News out of Japan this week, as the internationally popular Bixby Times defeated DESTROY IT ALL in the main event of Bang! Pro Wrestling’s annual Infinite Anniversary on August 8th to win their second Celestial Dragon Tag League. As DIA are also the current Bang! With Your Partner champions, a rematch is looming between the two teams for those belts at a time of Strong Antonio and Dane Bixby’s choosing.

Bixby Times previously lost the titles at last year’s Infinite Anniversary to the Heirs to the Throne, and have had a difficult path back to championship contention. As for Kuwayama and EIJI of DESTROY IT ALL, this is their third consecutive appearance in the CDTL’s finals.

Meanwhile, in a hard-fought battle, Coral Avalon successfully repelled the Godslayer to retain the Bang! World Openweight Championship, needing three Armaments to put down the challenger. Avalon was noticeably banged up after the match, but still declared himself for the TC-X in October with every intention of declaring his own challenger at Clash of Aces. Avalon is a four-time winner of the TC-X, including last year’s tournament, and would be the favorite in most circumstances… if his hectic international schedule didn’t seem like he was burning the candle at both ends, anyway.

Ignacio el Jaguar retained the Bang! Conception Championship against his rival, “Hawkeye” Taka Sakuragi, in a rematch from the Saikyo Cup finals earlier in the year that stole the show. Jaguar also had a spat with the Merciless Kingdom’s leader, Claire Merci, who had earlier won the Bang! Hardweight championship for the second time in a ladder match involving former champs Percival Avalon and The Generalissimo, and then-champ Maverick Martinez. Plenty of shenanigans were had in that contest that involved interference from the Kingdom, the Monster Menagerie, the Oregon Yakuza, and the Avalon faction – but Merci stole the belt out of the hands of Percy in the end.

Also, the wrestler that’s actually two wrestlers in a race horse costume known as Terrible Socrates made an appearance. So did the Dribbelsnatch.

And that’s just terrible.

Math Johnson has sworn revenge on Henry Keyes.

Nobody’s informed him yet about the seating arrangements, apparently.

The city of Topeka, Kansas has awarded a Local Hero Award and letter of commendation to…the Intruders? That can’t be right.

ReVival 93 will be an important show for newly crowned Tag Team champion Satan Jones. The show will be in Kansas City, Missouri, which is practically if not technically Satan’s home town. This comes three shows after teammate Kris Roswell performed in his hometown, scoring a win over Hayes Hanlon and FLAMBERGE.

Satan plans to have a “very special” Live With Satan episode where he intends to interview new tag team Den of Vipers. He also warns viewers who are “sensitive to extreme hotness on television” to change the channel during the segment.

Following the extreme amounts of alcohol consumed during Johnny Dorn’s Wrigleyville Bar Crawl at ReVival 92, “several pallets” of Liquid IV were consumed by the Survivor participants. In particular, the contestants over age 40 (Stanislav, TAL, Williams, and Keyes) were said to be “most in need” of electrolytes due to extreme hard liquor consumption.

No word yet on how many Pequod’s deep dish pizzas were consumed to aid in recovery efforts, though it is rumored they “nearly shut down the kitchen” with their order that night.

CHAD FREEDOM TO GO IT ALONE (AGAIN)

Sources close to Chad Freedom have confirmed that “Manager,” the tight-lipped figure who has accompanied Freedom in recent weeks, will no longer regularly join him at ringside.

Freedom, however, does not appear concerned about the change.

“Manager says I’m ready,” Freedom explained. “I’ve been feeling really in tune with myself lately.”

When asked whether this meant Manager would no longer be appearing alongside him in PRIME, Freedom quickly clarified that Manager has other responsibilities and would “hopefully” still attend some events.

“He’s very busy,” Freedom said. “He manages other people.”

Freedom declined to identify those people.

It’s been a rocky start for Chad Freedom, who has lost matches with and without Manager at ringside. We’ll see at ReVival 93 if the PRIME rookie can pick up his first victory against Toddrick.

Following the ReVival 92 broadcast, Kerry Kuroyama was tracked down for comment.

“I’ve never known to the Whoresmen to be bastions of intelligence,” said the Emerald Apex. “But if those chucklefucks seriously think there won’t be consequences after the shit they pulled tonight, then we should just go ahead and present them with the Darwin Award for the year 2026.

“Daytona may think his championship reign is secure, but they should probably keep that champagne bottle on the ice, because all they really gained tonight is a guaranteed future ass-kicking. Vae Victis will answer to this insult… and when we do, our vengeance will be swift and merciless.”

Following the events of the Wrigleyville Bar Crawl, Nathan Lake made quick, and apparently quite loud, work of packing his things, leaving promptly and taking a Lyft to the airport just after 1 AM.

The move was very uncharacteristic of the Lighthouse, who has been noted to stay back to help tidy up the AirBnBs used by Survivor contestants in each city so far. In fact, the move was so unlike Lake that Daihm Ferguson apparently spent two hours the following morning waiting outside the Survivor AirBnB petting many puppers before realizing Nathan was already gone and proceeding to pet a several more good good boys anyways.

Nathan was quickly confirmed to be safe and en route to Kansas City via a rental car and not a plane. No additional information has been given about why he chose to go to the airport just to rent a car when and Enterprise location exists just a few miles from the AirBnB’s location.

Brandon Youngblood has been fined $15,000 for suplexing PRIME lead official Elvis Nixon after his match-up with fellow eGG Bandit, Big Ian Salt. Neither Youngblood or PRIME President and CEO Lindsay Troy offered comment in regard to the fine.

The event in question was a shocking incident which took place on the prior ReVival. Youngblood has long been a proponent of referee protections in the ReVival Era of PRIME, so any reasoning behind his attack is of interest. Is it possible that Youngblood is embracing his role as a newly formed eGG Bandit under the purview of hated rival Cancer Jiles?

Stay tuned.
